How can simulation-based and immersive learning approaches help countries strengthen health workforce competencies and build more resilient health systems?
The WHO Academy, the WHO Health Emergencies Programme (WHE), and the Society for Simulation in Europe (SESAM) are bringing together global health leaders, educators, health professionals, researchers and partners for a collaborative event dedicated to the future of simulation-based learning in global health.
Simulation-based learning is increasingly recognized as a powerful experiential learning approach for workforce development, competency-based education, lifelong learning and capacity-building. By recreating realistic environments and complex situations, simulation can strengthen technical and non-technical competencies, improve teamwork and communication, support leadership development and enhance the overall performance of health systems.
During this one-day event, participants will experience a large-scale, immersive simulation demonstration and engage in collaborative discussions and action-oriented sessions focused on practical pathways for scaling simulation-based learning across countries and contexts, including low-resource settings.
The event will also foster collaboration between educators, technical experts, financing partners, academic institutions and implementation actors to support the development of scalable, sustainable and evidence-informed approaches to learning and workforce capacity-building.
