The Vaccine-Preventable Diseases and Immunization (VDI) unit supports Member States in advancing comprehensive, resilient and equitable immunization programmes to protect populations across the Western Pacific Region.
This is accomplished by:
- Strengthening immunization systems and programmes to achieve and sustain high coverage, including life-course vaccination
- Supporting the assessment and introduction of new vaccines as they become available
- Preventing and responding to vaccine-preventable disease outbreaks and immunization-related public health emergencies through preparedness and rapid response
- Enhancing surveillance, data systems and intelligence on vaccine-preventable diseases, vaccines and immunization to inform timely and effective action

His current work focuses on supporting Member States to strengthen immunization programmes and vaccine policy to protect populations from vaccine-preventable diseases across the Western Pacific Region.
